What is Art Beyond Boundaries?
The Art Beyond Boundaries Gallery is a professional, main-stream fine art gallery where local and regional artists with disabilities display, market, and sell their artwork. The purpose of the gallery is to promote awareness and understanding of artists with disabilities. The gallery strives to demonstrate to both the artists and the community that art transcends the limits of disabilities.
The selection for the group exhibition 'Siamese Twins' was open to the entire community.

After The Pedestal: The 5th Annual of Small Sculpture from the Region

A juried exhibition of small sculpture by artists of Ohio, its contiguous states, and Ontario, Canada. The eminent 2009 juror is Paola Morsiani, Curator of Contemporary Art at The Cleveland Museum of Art and former Senior Curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, TX.

The work I will have present is called Alba, 2009. 8'x4' wall piece, wood, ceramic, steel.
It was begun while in graduate school but recently underwent compositional changes that radically altered its final appearance. I am happy with the outcome.
I will not be able to attend the opening due to other engagements.

Dante 100x100 Purgatorio Group Show in Milan, Italy

I was part of a project some years ago in which 100 artists in Italy were selected to interpret a section of the Divine Comedy by Dante. I was given Canto XXVI of Purgatorio. I enjoyed the humility and respect the various poets show to one another - Dante, Virgil, Guido Guinizelli and Arnaut Daniel.
The image is a closeup of an ink I made 0f the face of Dante in this act of respect and humility. The closeup brings out the brush strokes. Only Dante has shadow on his figure since the rest are shadows themselves (or 'shades'). I printed it and hand-tinted it 33 times for the project.
